As part of a race called the Chimera Dream Eaters (humans with strong connections and abilities tied to dreams that live in the Realm of Sleep), Angelique was born in the Realm of Sleep to one of the Realm’s more powerful Dream Eater families. She and her younger brother, Dante, spent their days training in the art of Dream magic under the supervision of their parents. A natural prodigy, Angelique was adored among the other Dream Eaters and was regarded as the reincarnation of the Realm’s very first master of Dream Magic, the great Dream Witch. And her kind-hearted personality enamored her to anyone she met, whether they were Chimera or not. Her greatest dream was to raise Dream Eaters and one day explore the Realms outside Sleep.
Unfortunately, all the attention alienated her brother from the rest, and he ran away. Angelique, desperate to find her beloved younger brother, went off in search of him and was horrified to discover that he had allied himself with an evil man named Xehanort. The shock continued as she realized that he had been turned into a Vessel, and had turned to the dark art of Nightmare magic to manipulate the exams of two teens unlocking worlds trapped in Sleep.
Angelique knew that by turning to Nightmare magic, he brother would corrupt himself and turn into a Nightmare, and therefore be hunted down and killed by her people. To stop this from happening, she made a deal with the Council of Sleep: she would find Dante and prove that he could be saved. If not, she would absorb the Nightmare magic from him by force and allow the Council to kill her instead. Although her family protested, Angelique was resolved and the deal was struck. So she set off into the Waking Realm in search of her brother.
This trail eventually led her to the world of Radiant garden, where she was just in time to stop her brother from kidnapping a girl named Tegan. After talking with Tegan and her companions, Angelique joined in hope that they might be able to help her rescue her brother. She also keeps an eye on everyone else, providing comfort in times of need and an ear to anyone who needs it.

added note: it's actually a funny thing with Angie and her brother's names. Angelique was named after an evil witch in the movie "Dark Shadows", but her name also implies "angelic" which is her personality. Dante, was named after the hero of the Devil May Cry series, but happens to be an actual villain. weird, huh?
Also, Angelique and her brother Dante come from the Realm of Sleep. As such, they (and their people) are human who are also part Dream Eater. This is based on the idea that my Realm of Sleep is a more like a world where it's inhabitants, whether they are human or not, are simply another kind of Dream Eater, known as a Chimera.
