Heart and Soul: Xion's clothes

Well, nothing gets you through a boring week of college like carting your sketchbook around everywhere. 

With college wedging a stake between me and my muse at the moment, I needed something to do. What started out as doodling for some Marvel-themed dorkiness on my part (Marvel comics are very quickly becoming my new addiction, as it would seem.) turned into this. 

I'd been meaning to sketch out an outfit for Xion for a while now, seeing as she will eventually have a pretty important part in "Heart and Soul". I'm glad that I finally got an idea for it though. The sporty theme came a little from Sora's KH3 clothes, and I've seen a bunch of other people use a purple color scheme for Xion before. I really like those colors on her, so it all kind of worked out. And it wouldn't be a proper one of my designs if the outfit didn't have a few touches of Organization XIII in it (seriously, those silver tassels show up everywhere!) and how could I not include a Thalassa shell?

As an added note, I didn't even realize it, but Xion's name, besides being an anagram for "No. I" with the X thrown in, "Shion" is the Japanese name for a certain type of Aster flower that means "I will never forget you" in their language of flowers. Pretty cool detail, so I knew that I had to include it somewhere in her outfit. And since Xion's outfit is all sporty, I decided to turn her hoodie into a riff on a sports jersey.

All in all, I'm super happy about this, and I might even do something like this for Axel, Terra, Aqua, and a few other surprise characters later down the line.

Xion and Kingdom hearts belongs to Tetsuya Nomura and Square Enix. I just own this fan design.
